Do we believe in luck? I thought it was outlawed from our evangelical viewpoint! :-)

Isn't everything a result of spiritual influence...? I ask in all seriousness; was never sure whether luck should be a part of Christian worldview/theology or not. And one for the cheese pot "Coincidence is when God works a miracle but decides to remain anonymous!"

Luck - "success or failure apparently brought by chance" (from the dictionary!)

In which case you are right in pointing out the outlawed status of said word. Perhaps I should re-phrase, "I am fortunate in that..."

But I guess the whole luck think depends on what we think about pre-destination etc. If I were a staunch Calvinist then there would have been no element of chance/luck in the original meeting with this young lady and therefore it would not be lucky that she was now looking after me when I felt ill. On the other hand, if I am not so staunch perhaps I would say that we were both in the right place at the right time (luck?)

I feel a blog coming on!!!
