I am a follower of Christ, married to the most amazing woman I know, and am praying I will make a difference for someone.
My name is Nick Cox and I am 27 years old. I am married to Karen (YKW on the blog) and we have a dog, Jack. I currently serve as Assistant Pastor of St Silas Church Glasgow. Before this I studied for three years at International Christian College in Glasgow and prior to that I played professional rugby for five years. It was during this time playing rugby that I became a Christian and felt a call to Christian ministry.
I have a passion for church and seeing the church grow. I am motivated by a desire to see Jesus at the centre of the church and churches of all denominations united in the cause of making this happen. As well as my role at St Silas I am also training for ordination in the Scottish Episcopal Church and if I am approved and decide that it is the right thing will probably be ordained some time after the summer of 2010.
I envisage this blog as being a tool for me to share my feelings and views on a whole range of issues from my life to current affairs (church, world, sport - anything really.) I also hope that it may serve as an enouragement to those who are trying to walk with the Lord and can be helped by realising that there are others who struggle, fail and grapple with the tough issues also.
Please enjoy this blog and feel free to leave any comments!
Blessings, Nick.
My main hobby is playing (and training for playing) rugby and I play for Glasgow Hawks (www.glasgowhawks.com). I also love walking my dog, reading fiction when I have time, going to the cinema and eating out.
